In response to user interest we have added to the built-in library refractive index data for several plastic materials.
Materials
code | glass name | material |
---|---|---|
491592 | PMMA | poly(methyl methacrylate) |
591305 | PS | polystyrene |
584291 | PC | polycarbonate |
566354 | SAN | styrene acrylonitrile |
579320 | CTE | CTE-Richardson |
570333 | NAS | NAS-21 Novacore |
509520 | Optorez | Optorez |
531565 | Zeonex | Zeonex |
584308 | Bayer | Bayer |
In the above table, the code is from the measured data in the Nikolov and Ivanov paper (see below). The glass code is a sequence of 6 digits abcdef that specifies the D wavelength index is nD=abc and the Abbe constant is VD=de.f. For example, PMMA with code 491614 has nD=1.491 and VD=61.4. This code is not the d wavelength code used by the LensForge library.
